Hi Nick. Any time I give proofs they would be marked as un-retouched images and have a small watermark in the margin with a web address. The resolution should be appropriate for web but not print. I always pay my models. If you are just starting out you may opt for TFP (trade for photos). Pay varies by situation, so there is no simple answer that would fit your situation, location, model, seasonality, etc. Pay is according to what you get out of the shoot. If you get good photos, it is worth paying for. Pay is influenced mostly by the model's appearance and less by her experience level. There is also more work for models in warmer months, so pay goes up. You can also combine photos and pay.

Did you do Trade for pictures(un-watermarked proofs) or did you pay them?
If you payed them:
How much was the rate for taking the pictures?

That is actually a good point... I see that this degree of precision beforehand can go a long way later, if need be.

Thank you again!

Central to your question is identifying what exactly is being released. In many cases, having the date of the shoot is sufficient to establish which photos are being released. As long as you and your model agree, you have a binding release. But a publisher will often want to be convinced that you have such an agreement. Specifically mentioning the content as being nudes eliminates questions about what is being released. Take for consideration the beauty queen who claimed that her nude photos were taken while changing or adjusting her outfits and were not intended to be released. Stating the exact content in the release precludes such repudiation.

Good informative post on technicalities beyond point-and-shoot. Thank you for sharing your template. I was wondering if nude photography required a different type of release. Your article and template have answered that question.

That said, since the only addition to a classic release is the last paragraph where nudity is mentioned, perhaps it is possible to simply include this in optional phrasing, such as "If nudity is involved..."

I do know that as models age from 18 to their late twenties, that they are more inclined to advertise a desire to find nude modeling jobs. My experience is mostly with models 18-25, that's where the majority of all models are. The group of women over 30 who still model, either part time or full time, shrinks dramatically the older they are. I'm not sure where you could turn, other than perhaps art circles or female artists of the age you seek.

My interest is in photographing older women nude. How do your recruiting techniques vary, if at all. I have your book on True Confessions but it speaks to younger women. Older women, mid-40 through 60's, are particularly hesitant to pose it seems. Are there any modelling agencies or sites devoted to older women of which you are aware?
Thanks for your time.
