Why You Don’t Have to Convince a Model to Pose Nude

Nude model - Charleston SCI’m often asked how I convince so many women to pose nude. The answer is: “I don’t.” There is no need to. The women I photograph are willing to pose nude before they even know I exist. The first nude shoot I did was a total surprise to me. The model just took her clothes off and stepped in front of my camera, ready to model. She just assumed I wanted to photograph her nude.

The fact is, plenty of women want to pose nude for photographers, so you don’t have to convince them to. Not only have a photographed plenty of nude models, but they’ve shared with me their reasons for choosing who they pose for.

Buy the Rights to Nude Images

If you want to publish my images (nude or non-nude) of models, you have to pay a licensing fee. The good news is that the fee is just a few dollars per image, and the process is easy. I sell my images through microstock sites. These sites are often owned by large companies (e.g. Getty Images) who carefully select only the best photos for their collection. I have hundreds of photos of beautiful models available. They include nudes, swimwear, lingerie, business attire, and shots of models doing things like talking on the phone; but nothing explicit.

Why is the Model Nude?

I’m sometimes asked, “Why is the model nude;” occasionally it’s phrased “why is the model naked?”

Here is a list of fun responses I’ve given. Many apply to most of my images, while others apply to only some of my images. Enjoy

  1. She was born that way
  2. I find it more interesting that way
  3. That’s what she wanted
  4. That’s what I wanted
  5. That’s what almost everyone except you wanted
  6. She’s beautiful
  7. Because I wasn’t interested in photographing clothing, jewelry, or hair wraps at the time
  8. Why not?
  9. Because I don’t live in Saudi Arabia (any more)
  10. Nudes have been the subject of artists  for millennia; the oldest artwork (22,000 B.C) is a nude female statue. Why stop now just become some prude is cruising the internet to comment on nude photos?
